Visiting the area to attend a family wedding and found this delightful inn and hotel online. Good reviews so booked in and looked forward to our stay.
It's a lovely old world coaching inn overlooking a beautiful, traditional village green (pasture, village pump, football pitch, cricket club and green, little church school, church and pond).
Our room was comfortable, with a king size bed and a great view over the garden. Very peaceful and we slept really well.
Food is traditional pub fayre. Freshly cooked, good portions and very tasty. Great choice of puddings too.
Really nice, full English breakfast, again freshly cooked.
Most of all, the staff were all brilliant. So accommodating and friendly, making it feel very homely.
If we travel to Surrey again, we will definitely stay here.
PS. The wedding was lovely too!!
We loved the Inn on the Green. My wife and I stayed there for the night in October and it is ideally located for local attractions including the Surrey Hills, Leith Hill Tower and the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and really went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable.
We had an excellent, reasonably-priced dinner (Steak, wine and surprisingly good coffee) and we also had breakfast in the morning. The menu is good - lots of choice, large portions and very tasty.
The rooms are nice too - functional and very clean. We had a double with ensuite and were very comfortable - ours was away from the roadside though so definitely ask for room 1 if you are intolerant of light traffic noise.
All-in-all a really enjoyable trip and would recommend.
Had a couple of evening meals here whilst visiting the area. Very friendly staff and the food was lovely. Right on the main road with a large car park very close by. Lots of places to walk your dog too. Oh yes, and the pub is dog friendly. 🥳
